We had a wonderful time, met lots of real nice people and were busy
almost constantly demonstrating the accuracy and quickness of the Laser
and Luminescent System and then examining artifacts that people brought
to us for a quick evaluation of thumbs up or thumbs down
authentication. We saw several points and other artifacts that were nice, but
most of the objects submitted, were out right fakes, and
reproductions. But that is what the Laser and the Luminescent System
is about--- The truth-- and building confidence and public acceptance
of data driven COA's, and introducing Collectors to Scientific
alternatives instead of "in my opinion" COA's.
It was great to see Dennis Stanford again, and we had a wonderful few
minutes to talk. Our last meeting was in 1974 at the Jones-Miller
Site. I brought a Folsom broken back fragment which I found at the
Cattle Guard Site in 1966 for Dennis and Peggy Jodry
to check against tip fragments found during their excavations. Peggy
was very exited about the possibilities of a match up. Hopefully we
will be lucky and develop a match.
I left our camera home, but Mike Oliver and McKella
Walsh, heard of our predicament, and sent us photographs they had
taken at the Fair. We owe them a great debt and cannot thank them
enough. Our sincere thanks to both of you !
